Hi, i have been using a Toshiba laptop downstairs- Netgear router upstairs- with consistent low signal -only one bar- on my laptop broadband reception. I encounter regular every few minutes dropped signal.
Can I buy a PCI wireless card such as Netgear rangemax N adapter card and push it into my Toshiba laptop to improve wireless reception? Will this work? Currently I am not in a position to change my wireless router position.

I have an ACER laptop which ahs very good reception in the same room!

Any advice appreciated.
