    Smile Adding a laptop

    Hi there!

    I was just wondering if anybody can help me sort out a problem that I am having?

    I purchased a wireless connection for my pc last year sometime, and then a few months later a laptop. I added the laptop on to my wireless connection. Later on I realised I hadn't encrypted my connection so I got that sorted out on my pc. Having not used my laptop for a few months when I tried to connect to the internet tonight from my laptop it wouldn't allow me on, so I am presuming that this is to do with my connection not being set up for my connection.

    I am not sure how i am supposed to get it working, does anybody have any ideas?

    This has to do with your OS not knowing the pass phrase and it still assuming that your connection is still un-encrypted. What is the operating system on your laptop?

    My computer operating system is XP, while my laptop is Vista.

    Since you're having trouble on your lap top, from the control panel on your lap top go to "network and sharing center". On the left hand side "choose connect to a network". Right click on the name of your network and select properties. Under the security tab you will need to match the settings with your router. I can't really help you there. Either find out the information from your router's security settings or play around with the different options. The best case scenario would be match the security settings here with those from a vista computer already connected to your network. Hope this helps.
