Internet connection problem - flummoxed!
Hi all you clever people who I hope can give me some advice!
This problem is rather unusual and beating all the experts I've shared it with so far...
I'm using a laptop, internet explorer, Windows Vista Home Basic. There is one router and 4 shared computers on the Private network here and everything was running fine until we changed the name of the wireless network connection. Now, I'm having limited internet connection but the other 3 computers are connecting ok. The settings are all the same for each computer.
The odd thing is, I can connect to Google and it comes up with searches, and it won't go any further (websites hang indefinitely). BUT! I can also access my internet banking site and very few others, but not the majority. There are no restricted sites on my AVG or Windows firewall, but that's irrelevant, because...
Thinking it was a computer or settings problem, I took it to a local computer shop, connected instantly on their wi-fi and could connect to any site I wanted. Therefore, it's not a setings problem...
Has anyone come across this problem before? We've tried resetting the router etc, deleting/renaming the network connection, all to no avail. It's a mystery! Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Cheers.

When you changed the name and added settings to connect to the renamed network, did you clear the old settings of that router from windows?

Also, what OS's are running on the other PCs?

Well guys, I don't know what the problem was with the connection, but I've moved premises now and set up a new broadband connection, which works fine. So, I guess it was a network problem at my old place and nothing to do with my computer. Thanks for your input anyway.
