    getting WRT54G or MR314 to act as bridge

    i have PC1 that does not support wireless connections which i wanna connect to the internet. my cable modem is connected to WRT54G which connects my other PCs to the internet except pc1 because is too far away to be connected using a wire, so i wanna know if i could get MR 314 to act as a bridge so pc1 can connect to it using a wire.

    it probably is not easy to follow what I'm saying maybe this helps.

    I wanna do this:

    internet <---> WRT54G<---wireless--->MR314<---wire--->PC1.

    thank you for any comment or help.

    It appears that your routers don't support WDS. This is a method of creating a wireless bridge between two routers and effectively "extend" the range of your network. This Netgear page also tells you about the supported routers and more about the process.

    However, there may be other ways of doing it that I'm not aware of, Wireless networks aren't really my area of expertise.

    thanks for answering my question Owen. yes im afraid that they way i wanted to do bridge was not gonna work with these routers because the netgear one does not support bridging, but i found a custume made firmware for the linksys one that anables WDS. now all i have to do is change the order of routers like these

    internet ----> M314---->wirelessly---->WRT54GL---->wire.
    thank you anyway
