.. network did not assign network address to the computer?

Just been setting up number one son's broadband connection (Talk Talk). All went well until the attempt to connect wirelessly. The laptop connects to the network but says there is limited or no connectivity because "the network did not assign a network address to the computer".
Everything works fine via an ethernet cable, and I have checked that the network is OK by using my internet radio, which found the network straight away.

Go into the configuration screen of the router and look for the "DHCP" option. The router needs to be running a DHCP server in order to assign an IP address to the laptop when it connects. You might find that there are different DHCP settings depending on whether the client device is connecting via an ethernet cable or wirelessly.

Let us know if that helps :-)
