Hello,

My network has been going fine for about 2 weeks when suddenly today BAM 3 computers have been disconnected for no apparent reason.

INFORMATION:

Working computer 1 - connected via ethernet, windows xp sp2

Working computer 2 - connected via ehternet cable also, windows vista

Disconnected computer 1 - wireless, vista

DC'ed computer 2 - wireless windows XP sp2

dc'ed computer 3 - laptop wireless windows xp

SETUP:

Modem ---> NON wireless router (this router has ethernet cables plugged into iit) the non wireless router connects ---> into a wireless router (this router feeds the wireless computers).

Signal strength is excellent.

Any more information needed, let me know.

I know this might be the obvious, but have you tried power cycling both routers. My wireless router goes crazy sometimes and need a soft reset and then it works fine, it does same thing, signal strength good. You could also try logging into the wireless rouuter and release/renew the IP address so it will obtain a new one from the Wired router.

If you log into wireless router, also double check the wireless setting and make sure that no one has changed the wireless security possibly.

What kind of routers are you using?

I've tried powercycling it all.

I dont know how to log into the wireless router (192.168.254.254 is the non-wireless one)

The problem is that the computers have a "limited or no connectivity" error because they were not assigned an IP.

Nvm...the wireless router was plugged in but not connected to the LAN, i unplugged it, reset it and plugged it back in and all is fine.
