my network connection is timing out
I have Windows Vista and my Internet connection is doing something weird. I cannot connect to the iTunes store because "my network connection timed out," I can't download music from Amazon.com because it keeps saying I'm not connected to the Internet, and Microsoft's Office help tool also thinks I'm not connected to the Internet. But I am! Everything else works.
I tried adding these applications to my approved firewall list. I even tried turning off my firewall, but that didn't do anything either. I don't really think it's the firewall because my roommate has the same Internet and has no problem with iTunes.
Can anyone please help me?

Could the problem be that the connection is very slow or has a lot of latency? Test your connection speed at www.speedtest.net. What you'll be looking for in particular is a ping test under 100 milliseconds.
Is your Internet connection wireless? If so, you may want to experiment with slowing down the link speed in order to try to increase reliability.
