cannot access configration URL 4 D-link AP
Hi,
I have recently bought a d-link DWL-2001AP Access Point to link 2 lans, but for some reason I can't access the configeration URL that the manual refers to: 192.168.0.50. Each time I try, I get a "Page cannot be displayed" message.
Can any one help?
Chris

hi all,
I managed to get my ap configured. Apparently I needed to change the static IP on my pc to 192.168.0.51 (......) after connecting the AP, then enter 192.168.0.50 in my browser address box and bingo I was off and running and was able to configure the AP. Hope this makes sense to someone.

Hi Chris
are you setting up one Router behind another for extra security ? to see your IP etc open Run type CMD click ok at the c prompt type IPCONFIG/ALL hit enter / return you will see IP, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DHCP Server and DNS Server, to get Static IP in XP please see > Here mostly used in port forwarding.

Just chatting with my Brother - You could connect from router A lan port to router B lan port. You would turn off dhcp on router B, we have not yet heard of anyone doing this going from lan port to router wan port though we agree it should be possible, you would use a standard cat.5 patch not a crossover. hope this may help.
