i have been using a LAN connection for accessing the net
sometimes in the "local area connection status" window the packets received are greater than the packets sent. Is this normal??? or is there any problem??
wht does this indicate??

Normal. Don't worry. It just means your computer receives move information than it sends out. If you upload a lot, the packets sent are probably a greater amount.

I agree. Your system is almost always downloading information - such as this webpage. You are right to be cautious, however, so make sure you are using a good computer based firewall, anti-virus and anti-spyware scanners, keep your system updated, and don't open attachments or downloads without scanning first - and you should be fine.
