My computer runs fine when not on the office network, but the minute I connect it to network it slows down down to a crawl.

This computer has just been introduced to the network, it used to run as a standalone pc (though connected to the internet) I have run all the usual battery of antivirus and spyware removal, crap cleaner etc. And as I said, on its own it runs fine. Quite fast etc. But the moment I put it on the network, it slows right down. Any ideas?
