Hi

Our Ethernet switch stopped working today and we need to buy a new one - however I havent really got much of a clue as to what to buy!

I understand we have CAT5E cable and so thought we would be best off buying a switch capable of 1 gigabit. Is this correct?

We had 2 16 port switches (one no longer working) If I bought a 24 port switch could I still connect the 16 port one through it as we do at present with the 2 16 port switches?

Is there any compatability issues I need to take into account?

Is there anything else I need to consider?

I would really appreciate any help regarding this as I am a touch stuck!!
