I am trying to network 2 x winxp computers to an existing network run by
win2000 and then use the one printer already used by the existing network.
any one who can help will go to heaven as I might lose my job!!

usually if you connect a printer to an XP machine via USB, and install all the drivers etc on that machine it becomes visable in printers and faxes, but you can also share these (This is what i do in my home), and you can navigate to it and set it as your default PC on your other XP machines, if not can you not just buy a print server and do it that way?

go to run type the \\then computer name which has the printer connected to it hit enter it should come up with the shared things from that computer it should come up with the printer double click it to conect then when you go to print something hopefully that printer will come
