    SHDOCLC.DLL/dnserror - Please help

    Hello,

Upon the request of one of the moderators, I am posting my issue here. I originally posted a Hijack This log as I thought that was the source of the problem. I am getting the shdoclc.dll error every time I attempt to connect to the internet or use any services (e.g., Outlook) wirelessly with my new Linksys 2.4Ghrtz Home Router. If I plug the landline in or take my machine to work and hardwire, no problem...for some reason it is directly related to the wireless aspect. It is very strange...some days, it works the first time I connect and then dies, returning the .dll error. The connection is always rated as "excellent" and there are no issues that the machine can see, it simply wont connect to any pages or services via the web and returns the error. Steps I have taken thus far are 1) Downloaded new IE version 7 2) called the cable company several times and assessed the issues is not related to the cable supplier (the signal is alway rated as "excellent" 3) called Linksys and troubleshot the issue on that end to no avail. We downloaded new firmware esstentially.

I am still under the impression that my machine has been hijacked. Everything was fine, I downloaded some AVI player and my Spybot monitor freaked out, I deleted whatever Spybot found and ever since then, the .dll error. If it means anything....when I run task manager and delete the Windows.dll task, it works (I just tried this this morning and that is how I am able to connect).

Can someone please help. I am posting the HJT log just in case it helps. Thank you for anyone taking the time...I am going crazy over here

I don't see anything dodgy in the HJT log. I was initially suspicious of iPass and i.Collect but they are, apparently, OK. Could you go into Internet Explorer and select Tools > Internet Options. Go to the Connections tab and click LAN Settings. How is it set up? You should normally have nothing ticked or specified in that screen for a typical home network.

Thanks for responding. I checked the LAN settings and nothing was checked off...all boxes and bullets were blank. This issue is very strange...I have asked all my neighbors with wireless if they have any issues and they all claim to have great service with no interruptions. Landline works fine, plugging in at the office works fine...it is only on the wireless access do I get the error. The other day I ran the task manager and deleting the "rundll32.exe" task and the wireless worked fine. Like I stated, I have downloaded a new version of IE, used Firefox, talked to the Linksys people and the cable folks. The wireless connection is always shown as "Excellent" on my machine with no issues..its just that every time I go to view a page, the error appears (shdoclc.dll/dnserror) and all pages and outlook services are unavailable. If it matters, whenever I try to disable or disconnect the wireless connection, the machine blue screens, displays a long error page and then shuts down....this point also leads me to believe my machine has been corrupted.

WOW, that's pretty serious! If that was my laptop, I would disable the wireless network card and try a different one.
