Cant connect through router
Hi all, I have recently purchased a Belkin Wireless G Router 802.11g, Model F5D7230-4, Installation was easy enough, entered my account details for bigpond, username password etc, All worked fine but when I go to connect to the internet I keep getting the 2033E error, firewalls are turned off. I have a cable modem Surfboard 4200, I can get online when running directly through that but when I try and go through the router I cant. Anybody know what im doing wrong as im new to this? Any help is muchly appreciated.

Press the switch on the back of the router to activate router's default setting. Connect your router directly to your computer and IN IE type 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1 look at the setting inside router. If the address does not work refer to the manual to find out what the address is. Make sure DHCP in the router is turned on. Gateway in the router must be set to the IP address of your cable modem, if not, packets wouldnot know where to go. In your computer network drive, make sure IP address is not set to static and make sure DHCP is on. Connect things back together. If still does not work, remove power and waite for 20 seconds before reconnecting the power in the following order: First cable modem, then router, then your computer. Allow each device to reboot and try to automatically find the other device. Good Luck
