I have tried 2 different wireless routers, Linksys and Trendnet, and I have not been able to make either of them work. I am using cable with ethernet connection. I followed the instructions religiously and even spent 2 hrs. on the phone with a tech. from Linksys and still nothing. I have set everything right on XP as far as TCP/IP and still nothing. The modem I understand doesn`t recognize the router. I have power, wlan and lan lights on the router. I believe the lan is blinking as I would expect. I think. No internet connection. This is supposed to be so easy I feel that I am missing something. Could someone walk me through this. Thanks.

I know no one answered my question but I still thought I`d write and say that the solution was simple. About as simple as I thought. I visited my local Best Buy and got help (ya right) from a Geek about the cable to use with the ethernet to the modem. He sold me a crossover cable even though I told him just what I intended to do with it.-connect to the router. Never trust a Geek member at the BBC again. Used 2 straight-line cables and, bang, I am wireless. Thanks even though no one answered.
