i'm currently using my mother's laptop, a Fujitsu S Series Lifebook. no idea what the specific name is.

it uses the Atheros 5001x+ Wireless Network Adapter, but instead of just plainly using the Atheros Client, it uses the SMC Wireless Card Manager as well. this has worked all the while though it is somewhat unstable at times.

recently my father's office just re-networked of sorts. instead of using WEP key it now uses Mac filtering. which is pretty good and yesterday the laptop worked perfectly. i added the mac address and all.

however my mom complained this morning that it doesnt work anymore and when i check, the SMC Wireless Card Manager isn't working properly. it usually has a green coloured button with the words "Radio On" which allows the card to recieve and transmit data. now however it is set to "off" and every time i click it on, it stays on for 5 seconds and then disconnects.

currently the LAN cable is working, but the wireless is not. i've tried using device manager to check the settings and such but i can't seem to find anything wrong there.

any idea guys?

btws, Event Viewer does not show any errors.
