WI-FI Link/Nintendo DS
I wee girl dot a Nintendo DS for her xmas and I've just bought her the Internet browser for it (which needs a WI-FI MAX for wireless connection), so I bought a WI-FI Link from ebay as it stated it was for use with ps2/nintendo and was half the price!.
Anyways the problem is i cant get it to connect. Once the WI-FI is installed I switch on the nintendo to setup
When I click on "Connect to Wi-Fi USB connector" it says "unable to find the Wi-Fi USB"
The software that came with it is " wireless LAN configuration tool plus"
If in mode"STATION" it just says at the bottom "link status-....connecting so I assume thats to be changed to "access point"?
which shows the following details-
Network Adapter - WIFI LINK
Channel - 6
SSID - WLAN_AP
WEP - Disabled
TX Power - level 0
on the more settings tab there's an option to bridge adapters should this be chaged? no bridge/1394 net adapter/ chipset based ethernet/
If i "search for an access point from the DS it finds the WLAN_AP BUT FAILS THE CONNECTION TEST WITH AN ERROR 50099
The wee icon in the task bar for the wireless connection show with a red cross so I try to repair that but it doesnt get passed "aquirring I.P address" then show as limited/no connectivity.
Any idea's?

I can only assist with this as far as it is the same as a normal network. I don't even know what a Nintendo DS looks like so I can't offer any platform-specific details. What I can tell you is that you probably do not want to change your wireless local area network (WLAN) card from "Station" mode to "Access point" mode if your wireless router is in normal "Router" mode. If the router and the WLAN card are both in "Access point" mode, then I believe that the router will not dial out to the Internet - it will only connect to another router.
So, first of all, check that your wireless router is in "Router" mode and that your WLAN card is in "Station" mode. Secondly, go into the configuration screen for your router and check that DHCP is enabled. This should then assign an IP address to the Nintendo console.
Do you have a PC on the wireless network as well? If so, check that the PC can still access the Internet if you continue to have problems with the Nintendo after making these changes.
Let us know how you get on
