Limited Network resources on client computer
I'm trying to share the internet conncetion between two computers, using ICS using a crossover cable. I have succeded in doing that and both computer have full internet access and access to the network. But... when I restart the client computer It says 'it's connceted' in network conncetions on the Local area conncetion but actually has no internet connection what so ever. When you try to repair the connection it fails on 'renewing the ip address'. If you disable it then renable it, It accures the networking address for around 30 seconds and then says limited network resources.
However, by running the Home Networking wizard on both client and host computer, then renewing the Ip address once again, it works. This process takes around 10-15mins and is extremly anoying and winds up both computer users. Both computers are running Windows Xp Home edition.
My question is why does this happen AND is there anything that there can be done to get the client computer connceted to the internet alot faster?
Thanks in advance, Merry Xmas

What firewall are you running? You could try disabling it temporarily to see if it is a firewall problem.

(running SP2 widnows firewall on both)DOES make a difference. Im on AOL Broadband if that helps? I will upload 2 pictures, one of the host computer, one of the client.

I am pleased you got it working.
Personally I haven't had a software firewall for about 3 years as I haven't been able to find one that doesn't conflict with my hardware firewall in the router.

Firewalls will always conflict, its just how simple they are to configure. That makes a good one
