    Wireless network problem

hi, we have a d-link DI-514 w/less router and a d-link usb adaptor, the problem is, on my sisters desktop, i was trying to configure it so i plugged the wireless adaptor into her pc (USB) and installed drivers. It says it's connected to the router but wont work when i type the I.P adress in on I.E.... i connected the PC via ethernet and this part works, however, we cannot connect to the internet (we have an ethernet modem plugged into the router with all usual lights on saying its connected)

    any ideas?

sorry, this is the 1st time i have attempted a wireless network

Hi Mike it could be the firewall blocking it

tried again with no firewall, no luck

got through the setup OK though

    on the router:
    The power light is ON
    The status light is FLASHING
The W/LAN light is FLASHING rapidly (no w/less network yet)
The Ethernet #1 light is FLASHING slowly

    on the modem:
    The power light- ON
    The DSL light- ON
    The Internet light- ON
The Ethernet light- ON but flashing with activity (as usual)

here are some of the screenshots... do the settings look ok?

and do i need to change anything here?

on the 1st screenshot, when i click connect, i get a message saying something about a 10 second timeout and there is an option to continue which takes you back to that page.

also, i have aol (they have confirmed that my aol connection uses PPPoE)

    Thanks
    Mike

    UPDATE:
I am connected to the internet via the router (wired) i am going to try wireless now... don't know what i did but it worked

i'll let you know if it works at home

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
tried to set it up here, got wired working on this computer (very slow although both "Internet Gateway" and "Local area connection" are both 100Mbps) but when i try wireless it says something like "certificate cannot be found to connect you to network HomeNetwork"

    any ideas?

    Thanks
    Mike
