Dear all,

Some days ago I re-installed Windows XP Pro on my computer, which is directly connected to the internet. I used the simple networking wizard to try and build a home network and share the internet connection, and the other computers on the network do indeed have access to the internet and to each other's shared files and folders.
I am, however, fully unable to reach these other computers from my own, reach my own computer from any of those, or even to access my own shared folders through either 'my networklocations' or \\<computername>\shareddocs: I simply can't find myself.
Opening the shared folders is no problem, nor is pinging either myself or any of the computers attached to the network. Windows itself nags a bit about the fact that my computername might still be somewhere in the network, which I consider to be quite odd, as I've both changed my computername and the name of the network.
It is highly likely that I'm just missing something very elementary or have neglected to check some box somewhere - I just can't find anything.
I'm hoping anyone here does have an idea: any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
