I've got a great wireless connection at home but somehow i can't seem to connect with the wired network. Somehow i think it's a local machine (my laptop) that's the problem. Here are the details:
(forgive the computer illiteracy, i'm hopeless with computers)
Network is run by the guy i rent the room from.
All settings (ip address/dns gatewayetc) were setup by him on my laptop.
HIs latptop and desktop all work fine on the wired network but mine doesn't.
My LAN connection says that i'm connected at 100mbps to the network but i can't get internet. Each time i open a web browser window the operation times out.
My landlord tried to ping the server but kept getting timed out as well.
Tried to reinstall the driver with the latest driver from Marvell but to no avail.
Tried different cables and different ethernet ports and connecting straight to modem still no difference.
2 months ago (the last time i used the laptop) the wired connection was working fine in uni dorms. Possible hard ware problem?
