    Setup two routers

    I have a Speedtouch 510 and D-Link DI-524.

    The speedtouch had the modem.

I have configured the two that I can access the internet from the D-Link. The speedtouch ip range is 10.0.0.1/38 and D-Link is 192.168.0.1/6

All work well if every thing is plug into the D-Link but if a pc is plug into the SpeedTouch, they can not see each other.

I have also been trying to setup a FTP server which work ok with the two PC's plug into the D-Link, but when I try to ftp into the server from the other PC using the remote address I am unable to connect. I can only connect using the local IP. The server records nothing when trying to access it using the remote IP.

I have plug the PC into the SpeedTouch and try to ftp into the server which is on the D-Link and that did not work also.

I am thinking that the SpeedTouch is not finding the D-Link.

    Can any one help?

    Hi and welcome to D-A-L

have you tried connecting the modem to the router, then cables from the router to the PC's?

    Yes I have.

The corrent setup is that the Speedtouch which has the modem is connected to the phone line. The connection between the two is set that port 4 on the Speedtouch is connected to the wan port on the D-Link and is has the IP address 10.0.0.6.

The problem is that you are unable to get to the D-Link through the Speedtouch. I think that it is a routing pattern problem but I am not to good at this stuff.

All PC can only see each other once they are on the same router.

Do I have to create a routing pattern to get to the D-Link (192.168.0.1) or change the subnet mask of the d-link to match the subnet mask (10.0.0.1) on the Speedtouch?
