Unhappy not able to vivit https sites due to adware

    Hi,
I used to get lots of pop up windows, so i installed an adware. After the installation I am not able to visit any of the https sites. I uninstalled the adware application. Even now I am not able to visit any of the https sites. Could any one of you help me on this issue.
    Thanks and Regards,
    shajil

    Hello 'shajil',
Are you sure that adware is completely un-installed? Are you using IE to attempt to access the https sites?

looks like those url's have been blocked. You can check this by opening tools>internet options in ie explorer then clicking security tab and clicking the sites button while internet is highlighted.

Clear this and it should fix your problem.

Instead of using adware, install firewall (Syagte Personal Fierwall) and start using Mozilla browser - it looks very similar to IE, but is much better - you don't have any pop-ups or sth! And the best thing about Mozilla is that it usually works when IE crashes (as longest your connection settings are ok)!

An "adware" id a form of Spyware. Adware bombards you with popup ads. When you say adware, do you mean a spyware removal program? If so, there are plenty of rogue scanners that you might have installed. By installing a rogue scanner, it will actually cause you more problems.

abes, not all users are willing to change browsers. A lot of people are used to IE and prefer to keep it. Please just say I recommend instead of start using Mozilla. It is the users choice of which application they used. It might also be a good idea to give links to the programs you suggest, I know what the links are but other users may not.

shajil, please download Hijack This and post a log to the forums, there is a link in my signature.
