Ive just bought a USRobotics adsl wireless network with free USB. ive installed the Wireless router downstairs and it is connected perfectly.

I then instaled the usb hub into my computer upstairs. It is connected to the router at 83% but doesnt connect to the internet though it.

When i open up an internet based program it gives me the option to connect through WAN and other usess conections but not my wire less conection which is stupid. has any one any solision i am desperate.

I am runing on windows xp pro, Packard bell i media.

I have no servise pack on my machine wil that make any difference?

If you are using XP then yes it makes a big difference. SP1 added a lot of hardware updates including USB and also dealt with many connection issues not to mention all the security fixes.

You should take SP2 at this point and all subsequent Critical Updates from Windows Updates.

ive tried installing the service pack 2 but its wont it keeps saying in the middle of instalation "the product key used to install windows is not valad.
. But it is not copied or anything. what should i do?

And i cant get onto the internet for any updates.

found a cd with it on. turns out that you need servis pack to. they should say that on software requirments but never ming. thanks for the help.
