    Broadband installation disconnecting

I've installed a broadband connection using a Voyager 105 modem, and the setup was straight forward.

The BIG problem is that the broadband link is disconnecting regularly, then tries to re-dial, and connects again for a little while and then disconnects again.

Found a similar pronblem described in another forum. The solution was to change settings in the hidden DSL Debug menu and they changed the following:
    [XCVR Config]
Tx Power Attenuation - (to) 10 dB
When applied and restarted the SNR went up to 25.5

Can someone explain where the "hidden DSL DEbug menu" is found, what Power Attenuation is, and what SNR is.

    Regards,

    Rannoch

Have you filtered all you lines as suggested in your other thread?

Signal-to-noise ratio (often abbreviated SNR or S/N)

I'm borrowing a couple of extra filters, and will have them later this week.

    I'll let you know

    All phones unplugged.

Then started to add them back in, but I found one problem phone which is now permanently unplugged.

So far, I have three phones with filters. It is much better than before - no disconnects so far, and I'll monitor.

I didn't read the small print - I thought I only needed a filter on the phone socket to which broadband modem was connected.
