I have a Netgear WGU624 wireless router that I am trying to connect to my BT broadband. The cable from the filter is not presented as ethernet and although this appears to fit into the 'network' slot on the Netgear, I have no link light.

Do I need a new cable (ethernet 1 end and smaller ethernet looking at the other)

Do I need to run this through my BT Voyager 205?

The router is not a modem so I think you'll need to connect your router to your Voyager 205 with an ethernet cable

Hi Charlotte,

Your wireless router should have a port (socket) for an RJ11 modem lead to go in the back. It's this small cable with square blocks at the end that will connect into both the ADSL filter and the back (normally) of the router.

When I switched from a BT Voyager USB modem to a wireless router, I nicked that black lead out of the modem (it's no use in there any more) and put it into my router.

This router is not a modem so it is being run back-to-back with the Voyager.

Ethernet cable now applied, a /25 given to the Netgear and all working well.
