am running a small network, wifi with a server and 11 laptops. Some of my users have found a way to access others laptops ie: open/close cd etc, can this be done? and how can i monitor or stop this.

You have your controls in Group Policy. To access the Editor (GPE): click Start/Run and type gpedit.msc
