Cannot Get onto Internet b/c of Firewall
Hi,
My Norton was up today and I dl Panda 90day trial and when it was trying to install it said it had to remove Norton but I had to go into Norton and sign in. But when i went to do that, there was no place there to sign in.
So i just shut off my computer as i had to run out. When i came back home and turned the laptop back on and panda started to intstall again but said the same thing about having to sign in to Norton in order to do that.
But no where does it say that i need to sign in. Then it will not allow me to access teh internet at all.
I tried to remove Norton in teh Add/remove document but a dialog box came up and says Setup has encountered a problem and needs to close. It says that everytime I hit REMOVE program.
And also under my Windows Firewall Icon it says my firewall is off BUT under my Security Center Icon it says that it is on.
So now I cannot remove Norton, NOR will it allow me to access the internet at all.
I either need to remove it or something so I can access the net again and get another Anti Virus program.
PLEASE HELP ME
Thanks

Firstly, is it Norton Anti-Virus or Norton Internet Security that you had installed?
If I was in your position, finding that the Add/Remove Programs option didn't work properly, I would run the Setup again - the program that you used to install Norton initially. If it detects the existing installation, it is likely to give you a Change or Remove option. That may be more successful than the Add/Remove Programs way of doing it.
If that doesn't help, look under Add/Remove Programs again and see if you get a Repair option for the Norton program. If the installation is corrupted, causing the uninstall process to fail, then repairing any damaged files may sort it out.
Let us know if that helps
