Sharing/Mapping Outlook to a second machine
I have a wireless network with a desktop (main) and laptop. Whilst setting up the file/printer sharing I also added my partner to Outlook as a new profile. This works fine on the Desktop, but when I come to adding Outook as a shared folder on the laptop I opened up My Network Places, Outlook Shared folder, to be faced with 3 versions/files of Outlook (marked Outlook, Outlook1 and Outlook2).
How can I tell which version I am using on the desktop to ensure it is mapped to the laptop?

Go to the Start Menu and select Control Panel. Go through to the Mail option (you may need to click the 'Switch to Classic View' link if you can't find it). That will list each of your profiles. One will be shown as the default profile to use each time Outlook is started. I would guess that that is the one to link to when you are logged in on the other PC.
When your partner uses Outlook, I presume they are logged on to Windows as themselves? If so, log on as them and then repeat the same process to see what their default profile is.
Let us know if that helps

Having read my post again I did not really outline the issue in sufficient detail. Unfortunately the problem was a little more complex. What I was struggling the find was the .pst file. Somehow I had creatred 3 files: outlook.pst. outlook1.pst and outlook2.pst. I had no idea which one was mine and which was my partner's. I finally resolved the issue by luck rather than judgement. I always back everything on a daily basis to an external Iomega drive - my fles and my outlook. I had also created a backup process for my partner. When I checked the outlook backups it detailed which file was being backed so I was able to work out which was which.
Another reason to backup!!
Thanks for getting back to me.
