just bought a laptop and got it networked for the internet it works fine but i dont know how to network them for file and printer sharing i tried the wizard but not sure if im going down the right path.
my set up is cable modem wired to the router and the router is wired to the pc and the laptop is wireless straight from the router . please be aware im a complete muppet with computers so be gentle when u type ur technical jargon.

well i turned my firewall off and wow it works but what i need to know is will the hardware firewall on router (belkin) be good enough if not can i set zonealarm 5 pro to allow network access seems i know more then i thought can i have a gold start.

Is Zonealarm picking up the network in the alert logs? You should see the ip address of the other computer there. You need to add it to the trusted zone. It should then allow it to share with ZA on.

well after posting on here i thought well start za back up and see what happens and well it all works fine now just seems for setting up it did not like it but now its up and running its fine ive done reboots aswell to see and all seems good im baffled why this is the case.
