Linksys Wireless-B Troubles
My computer uses a wireless USB Network Adapter and it always seems to just disconnect me from the internet when I'm playing Multiplayer Games over the internet. Is there a setting I have to change or is this just screwed up?

Well, now it seems to be working for some of my games...but games like Warcraft 3 and when I download things, it doesn't work.

Hi ChristopherIV,
Sorry for the slow response here. I've seen similar problems and found that it was down to the way that my ADSL modem was connected to the phone socket.
Could you please confirm that your setup is as follows:
You have a wireless network (WLAN) card plugged into a USB port in your computer;
The WLAN card connects you wirelessly to a router and this is working without issues;
The router connects to the Internet down an ADSL lead connected to an ADSL splitter, which then connects directly into the master telephone socket;
No extension leads are involved.
My intermittent connection issues were caused by:
a) using a standard telephone extension lead which was reducing the signal quality;
b) having my ADSL splitter in the wrong place, i.e. connected at the modem/router end of the cabling, rather than being plugged directly into the wall socket.
If you're still having problems, let us know if your hardware is connecting as I've described in the 4 points above.

Well I use Roadrunner. I also have a Linksys Wireless Device....it's just a little box that tells me if I'm linked to the internet or not. The thing is, the internet works fine......it just logs me off when I'm playing Warcraft 3 or if I'm downloading something for too long.

Hi ChristopherIV,
I don't know if anyone else might understand what you've said a bit better but I've never heard of Roadrunner so I don't know what that is. Also, I'm guessing that the Linksys part is an ADSL router but that would do a lot more clever things than simply telling you whether you're connected to the Internet so I can't be sure.
Are you able to clarify further how you've got everything connected, i.e. how does an instruction from your PC actually get to the phone socket and out of your house? If so, we may be able to help you towards a solution to your problem

haha.....thanks for going with me even though I'm bad at this stuff....basically I"m connected through my cable....Roadrunner is part of our Time Warner Cable service that includes internet. My sister has the main router at her computer and she never gets diconnected from her games when she goes on, but I with my little wirelass box get disconected from time to time.

Found out afterall was that the problem is electrical static, like when a microwave goes off it disconnects me because of it being wireless. I hear that getting a wireless card solves that problem, which is great, i have looked into and am happy with the results.
