Single roaming profile giving me trouble
Seems I've been having a few more problems of late than usual. I've been sorting out the emails at work to roam with the profiles (moving destination from C drive to O drive).
Anyway the MD of the company is having some serious problems with her profile - it takes between 5 and 10 minutes to logon, but once she's in it works fine as if nothing is wrong! I tried checking to see if there were any large files being synchronised during the logon sequence, but there is nothing there.
I have tested her profile on multiple workstations and it is the same across the full network, yet when I try anyone elses login details they are logged onto the system within 10-15 seconds.
I really have no idea what the problem could be that's causing the huge lag, so Iim hoping someone else can shed some light on the matter!
Info:
Server running Windows Server 2000 with Active Directory
All workstations running Windows XP Professional
Minimum PC spec:
AMD Duron 800MHz
256MB RAM
40GB 5200 RPM Hard Drive
Any more info needed just ask and I'll see what I can do

Bump: I thought it was better to revive my old topic than start a new one - I am still having this exact problem on my network at work.
Can someone please help me? I'm getting my arse kicked at work for it

What's the size of the MD's profile in comparison to other users' profiles?
-
There is very little difference to be honest. Her profile has a few extra files associated with her network drive, but they are all Word or Excel files averaging about 5k each in size.
One of my original thoughts was that each time she logged on, her profile was synchronising loads of files, but this cannot be the problem for two reasons:
1) As said above, she has very few files associated with her logon details
2) I disabled synchronising entirely on one of the computers she was trying to log on to and it still took forever
Hope this has been of some use to you?

Everything I've seen on the Internet about this so far just suggests that it's down to the size. You may wish to delete the user's profile and re-create it (make sure you take account of anything on the user's desktop, email profile, specific printers or Application Data folder before you delete it).

Is it possible that the MD's profile is using different DNS settings to everyone else?
Is it possible that the MD's profile may be specifying services to load that other users don't have? If so, check for a service called Lync USB Auditor and disable it if it's present.
