Thumbs down Network printer no joy

Just connected my laptop (XP) to an office server (2000). All works fine, until I go to print. Able to see the printer, correct driver has been downloaded, documents I print even read as being in the print Queue. But still nothing. All other computers on network print fine. I have done all XP troubleshooting, so please don't tell me to turn printer on and off !!

ok so both OS's have the printer drivers and software installed, and you are able to see the printer on the network, and it puts the print into the Queue.... and you made sure you had file and print sharing enabled...

i would say remove the drivers from the Xp machine, go to the manufacturer website, find the correct windows xp drivers and reinstall them..

Are you still having problems with this, Backdexterus? If so, could you please tell us the make and model of the printer - there may be specific problems with this configuration.

Also, could you confirm whether the printer is connected to the server via a parallel or USB cable or whether it is sitting elsewhere on the network, connecting via an RJ45 ethernet cable?

When you say that your documents appear in the print queue, is that viewed from the XP laptop or the Windows 2000 server?
