isp wants me to change from usb to ethernet, would this help

my isp (ntl) has said that my connection would be better through ethernet http://www.ntlworld.com/helpsupport/...t/changing.php

would a usb-ethernet adapter work. i have one ethernet port but it is being occupied by my xbox. or would i be better connecting the xbox through the usb adapter and let ntl have their wish. or just leave it?

this is the kind of adapter i was thinking of http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ME:B:BCA:UK:11

In most cases, it's unlikely that you'd notice much difference on a home PC by changing your broadband connection from USB to ethernet. NTL haven't said that everyone should do this - they're just saying that it might improve things for some users. Is there a specific problem that you're trying to resolve by switching to ethernet?

well you see it was this article about the advantages of ethernet http://www.ntlworld.com/helpsupport/ethernet/ . one that interested me was faster downloads and better pc performance because my pc has been having periodic slowness which i am currently trying to resolve on the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs forum. if ny xbox will be able to transfer data over it with the usb adapter then ill change it.

    thanks for the reply
