BT Broadband basic droping ADSL
We installed a Buffalo WMR G54 ADSL Wireless router and then un-installed the previously fine BT Voyager 105 soft/hard ware. This worked fine for both our lap top and desktop machines for about 4 days.
Then the problems:
DSL light does not come on for the Buffalo, and then after removing and replacing the DSL connection into the router it came back on briefly.
After much frustration we replaced the Voyager modem and still had intermitant drops of the DSL service (no light for the DSL on the voyager either)
After reading through other forums (incl.this very helpful one) it seems the problem can some times be traced back to McAfee firewall or sometimes can be fixed by dialing out on the attached anologue phone.
I was wondering if anyone else had experianced this problem and had come up with a better solution than turning their firewall off or dialing on a handset to try and get a line.
Thanks
