    Network connection erratic

Hi, I have two desktops and a laptop on a wireless networking system and have a problem with an erratic connection to the internet and accessing the other files and printer. The main destop which is connected directly to the router is fine, and the wireless signals from the second desktop and the laptop are all fine too. What happens is that connection will be there one minute but not the next (but the signal is fine). What I usually try first, which occasionally works but not often, is putting 192.168.2.1 in the address bar and pressing connect but usually I just get the dreaded page cannot be displayed message. To renew it, unplugging the router from the mains for a few seconds usually works but surely I shouldn't have to be doing this.
Someone who knows more than me about these things thinks maybe I need a new router (it's only 8 months old though). Any suggestions most welcome ! Thanks.

Some routers may not reconnect if they have been unexpectedly disconnected. Switching off/unplugging the router for 30 seconds will enable the router to reconnect successfully.

There are some ideas in the following posts:

Thanks once again for the help. There are quite a few things to try in the links you gave me which I will work through, and it's also a relief to know the problem isn't unique.
