cccc im trying to network a compaq presario 5000 series on broadband to a slave computer running windows ME we put the hard ware in both and the cable fine no probs ....but when we start the compaq up it drops the monitor into sleep mode and we cant get it out .the only way to do it is to remove the network hardware and leave it ten minutes and then restart any ideas anyone ???

Are both computers running ME?
Do you want the compaq to be the host pc?
When you say "the only way to do it is to remove the network hardware" what exactly are you removing?
