Hi everyone please help!
I have set up a wireless network with my PC and laptop. I run XP home and AOL 9.0. When I try to do updates for my McAfee package, the PC (or Laptop freezes for a while and ends up with the page unavailabe or Action Cancelled page. I also have problems trying to do a manual Windows update, I connect thru AOL and eventually I get a Microsoft error number. I have found the error number on knowledgebase and tried the suggestions on there but I jsut get the same error. Thanks Danny

Is there an automatic update function for McAfee?

Also have you tried turning on Automatic Updates for XP?

What are the exact errors you are getting? What was the knowledge Base page?

Hi - both Windows and McAfee updates are turned on. I have this problem on both my PC and laptop (connected with a wireless network usina a Belkin router with no other issues) I know the automatic McAfee isn't working 'cos the damn thing keeps telling me there are updates available and asking me to register. When I try to register, it just freezes and I have to ctrl-alt-ddelete to shift it. Windows manual update gives me 0x800072EE2 error message and when I try to rectify this using microsofts suggestions, it doesn't work. I am by no means an expert but I'm thinking it could be a network problem? I can access other secure sites (eg banking) Thanks Danny
