My husband and I are networked. Started to have a lot of problems with network and general problems. I feel that a program called AGV antivirus was causing a lot of the problems. We finaly have the network between the 2 pc's but I can't get anywhere on the net with my computer. And yes the share internet is checked on husbands pc. I have uninstalled the antivirus program and put systemworks on. But we can't get my computer to let me on the net when he is connected. Any ideas??? Thanks!!!

what internet connection do you have?

Using win200 pro and dial up via modem. Using a 5 port hub and cable between the 2 pc's Our ISP is Iowatelecom. I kind of have a feeling it is my pc with the problems. Today I went to my computer and the drives we had mapped had rec X under them. Then I wanted to see if they were still mapped and the letters we used to map them were gone from the list. I am also having other problems. Thanks for your reply. I am on now via the modem on my computer and dialed up direct.

Two questions:

Did it ever work ?
And is Internet Connection Sharing turned on on the machine that actually dials up ?

yes.. it used to work great. And yes internet sharing is checked on the machine that actually dials up. As every days goes by I feel I am wanting to format this pc and put on xp home edition. I have a lot of problems with this pc. Thanks!!

Thanks for your reply.. no I don't have a firewall. I have a lot of problems with this pc and am really leaning towards formatting and installing win XP home edition. I have no idea how to format and put the new windows on but I think it can be done. I will read in the other forums and get an idea how to go about this. Thanks!!

As you dont have a firewall............your Pc will be open to all sorts of nasties.have you tried looking at this thread www.d-a-l.com/help/showthread.php?t=605

This does appear to be a spyware or virus issue.........Take the advice of brain_damages last post.
