I have a wireless router (Linksys-G) & have been running 2 desktops for over a year with virtually no problems.

I had to replace 1 of the computers, so I bought a new desktop & also got myself a laptop. The notebook finds the connection when first booted up, then about 5 minutes later I lose connection. The NEW desktop upstairs is holding the connection for the most part. Lost it a couple times, but thats not bad.

The laptop is really frustrating me. Its a Averatec 6100 series with wireless card. AMD Sempron processor....Brand new.

Is it a firewall problem? Is the windows sp2 firewall disabled?
