I have a netgear DG814 router....... for some reason it keeps cutting me off the net.I have never had this problem until the last month. I have no idea about how a router works...... I didn't set it up. I either get disconnected completely or get a low connection or no connection warning. I am not positive it is the router........ why would it suddenly start playing up? It may be my ISP. How do you access the settings on a router? Any advice will be gratefully be received.

Is it ever powered down ? try that and press the reset button..........plus dont get stephen any where need it

That's the only way I can get back on the net.......... but shouldn't have to do that .......must be something wrong with it.

Some routers will actually time out your Internet Connection if inactive. My Geneva Emp I support had that problem with his Zyxel. We set the time out to 999.
