    Routing It Through Firewall

I have a D-LINK DSL 504T router with a built-in firewall and I also have Norton Personal Firewall on my pc. I am using something which I dont want to be behind firewall because it is slowing the process down I need to route it through the firewalls but I don't know how to do this. Can someone give me a step by step tutorial?

Tell me if you require any other information. Thanks.

    Bhavz.

Whatever you want to "route" through the firewall I am assuming it is a server process. If so you will need to do two things. One forward the ports the application requires thorugh your router to your PC and secondly allow Norton Firewall to give access to this application through the firewall.

It would help if you could let us know what it is you don't want to be behind the firewall. By your description I'm guessing a P2P program. Look on that program's FAQs for which ports it uses.

Sorry extremely late reply, forgot about this thread. ive managed to disable the firewall in the router and ive opened the ports on NPF which the p2p program uses. but its still not working. i remember doing something in the proxy settings in IE and after that it all went KA-BOOM. could this be the problem ?
