Re: Lost internet connection on a network

Strange, I've used ZA for my home net with no probelms...and all 4 computers that access the Inet all have it. I do know that it requires a bit of configuring initially. The main system (the one I am typing on now) as to allow some programs to be servers on both the IntERnet as well as my intRAnet, otherwise it falls like a house of cards.

I can now connect but the response is very slow and often times out unless I disable ZA on the main PC. Some configuration required here I think.

    Thanks for the pointer.

One last point the TCP/IP settings are set to Obtain an IP address automatically, as is DNS server.

    Is this correct?

If its identical to your other PCs then its fine. Most Router configs have DHCP capabilities.

I'm having a similar problem. I just got a brand new computer, and am having issues maintaining an internet connection on my brother's wireless network. It will connect to the network, have strong signal strength, I can share files, sometimes I'll be able to get on MSN messenger. Usually, there will be no internet connection at all. If I turn off the modem, unplug the router, turn on the modem, plug the router back in, sometimes that fixes it, and I'll be able to get onto the internet once it reconnects to the network. I often have to go through that routine several times before I get a connection. The other computer in the house works fine. After as little as a few minutes, or even a few hours, my computer disconnects from the network and I have to go through the whole thing again. Any help is appreciated!

I have also had a recent problem with my wireless home network. I removed my router from the loop and can access the Internet going straight through my modem but there is a problem when the router is on. I recently disconnected my other computers to move furniture, after which I could not obtain access with the wireless router. Until I find out what is wrong I will be wired. This happened to my brother and someone mentioned it may be attributed to spyware. What gives...

LiLstar and oneluckygal can you please post your problems in a separate thread as it makes it hard for people to reply with help.
