    Hi Jephree
I have just been reading the problems from "Falling"
I have had the same problem. Let me give you my situation.
I have one computer connected to the net working fine. It is also connected
to the other computer in a different room. Both computer can see one another and can read files but number 2 computer will not connect to the net, (it has been in the past but one day stopped). I get the icon in the system tray that reads Bla Bla limited or no connection.
I have attemted a restore on both but still the same. I am not sure which computer is the one playing up.
    Hope you can help

Hey there. I thought I'd share this as a general reference as a troubleshooting for others who might (or will) encounter the same problem.

I've had the same situation as, Falling, here did with his wireless connection about 2 weeks or so, ago. One day it was working just fine. The next morning, the thing just won't connect anymore. We our using a D-Link wireless router (DI-624) and my ethernet card is a, DWL-524. Another comp. (under Win2000) downstairs also has the same adapter card but did not occur any connectivity problem(s).

I had been trying to figure out what the hell was the root of this problem, and I don't know crap about Networking and Troubleshooting it or whatsoever. After 2 weeks of experimenting (of course, I was being very cautious not to cause any vital modifications while doing so) I finally gave up. So I e-mailed D-Link Support the night before and got a feedback the next day, telling me instructions to the manual configure procedure. I followed their advice, and alas, it did not change a thing. I did not want to have to call their free toll so I decided to give the Googling thing one more try. Hell yeah. I came across this query result and ended up in this thread. I read from first to the last and bingo! This user experienced the same damn thing I was having.

So I followed Falling's method(s) by thinking, maybe I don't need to buy a new wireless ethercard and that the root of this situation has something to do with this Winsock scenario. I followed his external link (Microsoft's) and worked my ass from there. I deleted 2 Winsock keys from RegEdit (as instructed) and re-installed the TCP/IP protocol, and this whole mysterious troubleshooting has finally come to an end.

I was so damn relieved it worked on my end here as well. I thank you so much for creating this urgent forum thread. I don't think I could've fixed this damn thing without other suggested queries related to the problem I had. Thanks so much you guys!
