I'm trying to find a good PCI graphics card that can handle next generation games like Half Life 2 and Doom 3, but i'll be getting a whole new computer in a couple years when I go off to college. I've been looking around and I can't seem to find anything made for the PCI slots, its all AGP. Any ideas?

Right now I have a P3 with 256mb RAM and 3 gig Hard drive. I think. Not sure, thats just an estimate not a computer guy. Its a nice computer with a fast hard drive or whatever, but its got your standard cheap intel integrated graphics card thats doesn't work all that well for gaming. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Whats the difference between a PCI graphics card and a Graphics card adapter?

It's pretty much the same thing, however there is a huge difference between a AGP graghics card and a PCI graphics card.
