hi
i've recently purchased a dell studio 1737 with windows vista home premium. from the first time i turned it on i got a message
"the AC adaptor type cannot be determind. this will prevent optimal system performance. please check AC adaptor, connect properly , remoe ac adaptor and plug it in again"

the ac adaptor is not charging the laptop. computer only works when its plugged into power source. i have researched this online and it appears that this is a common problem. i know my computer is under warrentee but i'm looking for some tips so that i don't have to waste the time in transit and while it is getting fixed
Also in the last few days i have noticed an extra message that pops up on start up
saying that the battery is not recognised by Dell Inc and to remove

The reason i put this in drivers section is because i reinstalled drivers for the ac adaptor
Any help appreciated!!

Did you purchase it from Dell direct? Or some retailer?

My initial response is return it and demand a working computer.

Also if there is a required return demand a shipping refund.

You basically received a faulty product and it should not require any further funds from you to replace.

Just be very demanding with your contact and ask for the supervisor etc.
