If you installed all of the applications & it still doesn't work then I would reinstall the stable version & contact creative. They might not help you if you have the beta installed because it says that there is no support for that. Or you could go with the next version down v. 2.12.0002. Are you sure that you have the 2z & not the 2z gamer or video editor? Those aren't listed the supported devices for that driver. Are you using creative's audio console?
Users are advised to use Audio Console included in this download to change speaker configurations.

Not solved, but I have a solution.

Using Camstudio for video recording and Total Recorder sound recording.

I hate Creative products, they have the quality but no reliability. I have 2 Creative Mp3 players that are somewhat functional on a good day. Now I can add a soundcard to the list! yey!

    Thanks again,

    Finally, SUCCESS!

After downloading total recorder I noticed that camstudio IS recording audio now! Total recorder installed a stand alone audio driver component that was missing from the Creative SB driver. I'm going to list my settings, and maybe I can save someone else the trouble.

    Sound Properties:

    Playback:
    Speakers : default
    SPDIF : secondary
    Nothing else checked

    Recording:
    What your hear : default
    Nothing else checked

    Camstudio:
    Record from microphone checked
    Audio capture device : default
    The rest is default settings

Thanks again, again, and again guys
