I have also 2 usb ports ...installed with my custom built comp...
its in the front of my tower....way at the bottom of my computer....
I never really had as us for it...since I got the computer....but..recently ...I've upgraded myself (LOL) from using disc to using the flash drive thingys....to store my stuff...and just transport my stuff from home comp to my work comp....
so anyway...i started using trying to put my flash into it..and it gives me an error message "one of your usb has mulfunction and they can not recognize"
Nothing comes up in mY computer either...both slots are like that ????

If your board is USB 1 that could be the issue.

Do other USB devices work?

all the usb's in the back...where i plug in my printer...mouse , keyboard...yes they work...
just the the two in the front dont?

The two up front don't work with any device?

Does the flash drive work in the rear?

Some boards have a mix of USB 1 & USB 2.

yes it does work in the back....

I'd guess the front ports are USB 1 and the rear are USB 2 assuming that other devices work up front.

Try your mouse up front.

well i only tried the flash drives i havent tried anything else.
