I have repeatedly tried to download the driver that will let me use this printer as a scanner and a fax. The download works well but I cannot ever get it to install! Any suggestions? Also does anyone have a good website from which to scan all my drivers to see if they are functioning properly? I know I have a driver for the above noted printer so that I can use it as a printer. It is the other functions that do not work and the printer gives me a message stating that the All In One driver did not respond. Any help will be greatly appreciated! By the way, the driver downloads were from all different download sites.

Basically you should only use the manufacturers drivers.

Their's was one of the ones that I tried. Same error with all of the downloads. Dell offers no support unless I want to pay for it, which I really can't!

Did this printer ever work with this computer?

Have you tried totally removing the driver before retrying?

What is your Operating System? Is the printer compatible?

The printer has always worked. It's only the scan and fax functions that are giving me grief! MY OS is XP home edition and there is a driver thru Dell that is XP compatible. I just unistalled the printer and reinstalled it. I'm going to try it now!
