    Audio Driver Missing

I have read all the other topics regarding this but i'm not the best with computers so im still lost.

In my Sound and Audio Devices it says that I have no Audio Device.

Then in the Device Manager I came across this.(Don't have a clue if this has anything to do with the problem.)

After clicking on the ones with the Yellow "!" marks this came up.

After I clicked on Reinstall Driver this came up.

So i'm lost from there. I know I didn't give all the information about my computer but thats just because I dont know where to look or else I would gladly post that up.

Thanks, Any help would be appreciated!

Is this a new problem? Did your audio ever work? Did you reinstall your OS?

    Audio drivers
    --------------------------------------------------
The best source for audio drivers is the computer manufacturers web site.

If the computer was custom built then go to the motherboard manufacturers web site.

Go to the driver download section and insert your model number. The drivers will be there.

If you are one of the very few people that actually installed a PCI "Sound Card" then you should have the drivers CD for that card or again go to that manufacturers web site.

This just happened last week before that I had no problems with my sound. I think it might of got removed accidently because someone else was getting rid of old programs on my computer.

What is the make and model of your computer?

    No.

Is it a Dell? Is it an HP? Is it a Sony? Is it an IBM?

Is it a Dell Dimension 4200? Is it an HP Presario 1234?

    etc. etc. etc.

There should be a label somewhere on the computer.

Belarc might detect it under System Model but again might not:

It's a Dell Dimension 4600 from what Belarc said.

I'd suggest the first one from this list to start with: Audio:

    Drivers & Downloads

    Reboot your computer after installing.

Alright here is what happened after I rebooted. I tried playing a song in Windows Media Player but there is still no sound. But it actually plays through the song now you just cant hear it. Before I would just get a message saying that I couldnt play the song because of my audio device.

    Can you hear Windows sounds?

When the computer is starting up etc. ?

Go back to Belarc and what is listed under "Multimedia"?
